Open to everyone who loves words, these workshops for groups of 3 to 6 invite you to express your creativity and explore your inner voices through writing in the cosy setting of a café in central Prague.
How it works: three stages
-
At the beginning of each workshop, you are offered two prompts, “pretexts for creating”. These are simply invitations. It is important that everyone feels free to follow their inspiration in the moment. For some, frameworks and constraints are playful and stimulating invitations; for others, they can feel like demands that hinder the creative process — which is precisely what we want to avoid!
-
The second stage, writing, lasts for a variable amount of time (30 to 40 minutes for the shorter workshops, 60 to 90 minutes for the three-hour workshops). It can be interspersed with conversations if you need to discuss an idea and help it take shape (particularly during the three-hour workshops).
-
The final part of the workshop is devoted to listening and sharing. Participants who wish to do so can read their writing aloud and exchange impressions about the texts and the creative process.
The aim is not to play literary critic or judge the quality of one text against another.
Writing workshops aim to nurture and nourish the creativity that lives within each of us.
Art therapy through writing and drawing
A space to express yourself differently
A few words about art therapy
Art therapy is a therapeutic discipline whose purpose is to nurture, stimulate and strengthen the creativity we all possess. It is not about learning to write or draw the “right” way, but about offering a setting conducive to expressing ourselves, our tastes and our inner colours.
Art therapy is based on the principle that allowing this breath of freedom to flow through us, in a space protected from all judgement and social demands, can help us build inner strength, overcome difficulties and explore paths towards greater well-being.
Although art therapy is a branch of psychology and psychoanalysis, it does not claim to replace traditional forms of therapy. Alongside care, it invites us to express and understand ourselves differently.

A few words about me
Aline Pacvoň
French and based in Prague with my Franco-Czech family for twenty years, I have been a literary translator of English-language novels for thirty years. I have also worked as a reader for various publishing houses and literary programmes, and as a freelance contributor to literary magazines, before founding a publishing house specialising in bilingual books for children (Nezbedna Zirafa).
A certified art therapist since 2021 (trained at the PROFAC centre for applied psychology in Paris, Lyon and Arles, France), I ran creative expression workshops at CTA Praha (Centrum Terapie Autismu, Centre for Therapy for Children with Autism) from 2020 to 2021, and at the French Lycée in Prague (groups of children aged 3 to 6 and 7 to 10) in 2022. I created and led writing workshops at the media library of the French Institute in Prague (“Mercredi, j’écris !” for adults and “L’atelier des jeunes plumes” for teenagers) from 2023 to 2026.
In 2026, I created “Les voies de l’écrit” to take my workshops beyond institutional settings and organise them in cosy places that encourage creativity and exchange.
