Open to everyone who loves words, these workshops for groups of 4 to 6 invite you to express your creativity and explore your inner voices through writing in the cosy setting of a café in central Prague.
How it works: three stages
-
At the beginning of each workshop, you are offered two prompts, “pretexts for creating”. These are simply invitations. It is important that everyone feels free to follow their inspiration in the moment. Some find frameworks and constraints playful and stimulating; others experience them as demands that may hinder the creative process, which is precisely what we want to avoid!
-
The second stage of the workshop, writing, varies in length (30 to 40 minutes for the shorter workshops, 60 to 90 minutes for the three-hour workshops). It may be interspersed with conversations to discuss an idea, help it take shape and take it further.
-
The final part of the workshop is devoted to listening and discussion. Participants who wish to do so can read their writing aloud and exchange impressions about the texts and the creative process.
The aim is not to play literary critic or judge the quality of one text against another.
These writing workshops aim to offer you a space in which to express and nurture your creativity.
Art therapy through writing and drawing
A space of freedom and neutrality
A few words about art therapy
Art therapy is a therapeutic discipline that aims to stimulate and strengthen the creativity we all possess. It is not about learning to write or draw the “right” way, but about offering a setting that encourages self-expression, personal tastes and inner colours.
Art therapy is based on the principle that allowing this breath of freedom to flow through us, in a space protected from all judgement and social demands, can help us build inner strength, overcome difficulties and explore paths towards greater well-being.
While art therapy follows directly in the tradition of psychology and psychoanalysis, it does not claim to replace traditional forms of therapy. Alongside care, it invites us to express and understand ourselves differently.

A few words about me
Aline Pacvoň
A French woman who has lived in Prague for many years with my Franco-Czech family, I have been translating English-language literature for thirty years. I have also worked as a reader for various publishing houses and literary programmes, as a freelance contributor to literary magazines and as a publisher of bilingual books for children.
A certified art therapist since 2021 (trained at the centre for applied psychology, PROFAC in Paris, Lyon and Arles, France), I began by leading creative expression workshops at Centrum Terapie Autismu (Centre for Therapy for Children with Autism) and the French Lycée in Prague, before creating writing workshops for adults and teenagers at the media library of the French Institute in Prague. (Radio Prague International).
I created “Les voies de l’écrit” to take my workshops beyond institutional settings and organise them in cosy places that encourage creativity and exchange.
